- Databases and JSPs
- Sessions and JSPs
- Custom Tag Libraries
- Introduction to Servlets
- Web Applications
- Combining Servlets and JSPs
Prerequisites
You should have a solid HTML background and at least some
Java programming before taking this course. Prior J2EE
experience not necessary.
Taking the Course
To take this ShareWare CourseWare self-paced course, please follow these steps:
|
Step 1
|
Download and install the Courseware Viewer
program that enables you to take the course. If you've previously
taken a ShareWare CourseWare self-paced course, you should
already have the CourseWare Viewer installed and thus can skip
this step.
Note: Since the JSP Programming course involves
Java programming, we recommend that you use the Windows or Linux Installer
or "Manual" method of installing the CourseWare Viewer. Those two
installation techniques require you to first install the Java Software
Development Kit (JSDK), which you will need if you want to do the
lab exercises.
|
|
|
|
Step 2
|
Agree to the License and Download the JSP Programming self-paced course.
and accept the license agreement and advance to
the download page.
Important: Please take special note that
ShareWare CourseWare is for personal, non-commercial
use only! Commercial entities must license courseware
as described here.
|
|
|
|
Step 3
|
Run the CourseWare Viewer and open the JSP
Programming Course.
Start the CourseWare Viewer using the appropriate
technique for the way you installed the
CourseWare Viewer.
To open the JSP Programming Course, in the
CourseWare Viewer, choose File - Open, then navigate
to the folder to which you installed the JSP Programming
Course. Choose the jsp.crs file to
start taking the course. Enjoy!
Note: The lab exercises are not available unless
you license the course. However, so you can see what the
labs are like, we've made the first lab exercise
available at no charge. Note that if
you wish to do that lab, you will first need to
setup and configure
your computer for the labs.
|
|
|
|
Step 4
|
License the Course!
To get the most out of the course, you should
license
the course so you can complete the lab exercises.
Licensing costs only
$10 and is an easy and fast process. Immediately
after you license the course, you will receive
a registration code to unlock the lab exercises.
After licensing, you will need to
setup and
configure your computer for the labs if you have
not already done so.

taking this course, we provide the following resources:
Take This Class With a Live Instructor!
If several people at your company need to learn about JSPs,
you should consider a Descriptor Systems JSP Programming
workshop taught by an instructor with years of J2EE experience. In
only three days, you and your team will become proficient JSP
developers! See
this page for details.
License This Courseware!
If you would like to teach this course as a stand-up instructor,
you can license this courseware. Descriptor Systems
offers liberal licensing terms. See this page
